Cub Skills Camp

All Cubs from both Tuesday and Thursday Packs who will be 9yrs or older are invited to attend the Skills Camp at the Scout Hall.

When?

This is a single night sleepover from Saturday 7th May to Sunday 8th May. Cubs should arrive at the Scout Hall on the Saturday at 2pm (in full uniform) and will be finishing at 4pm on the Sunday.

Who can go?

Cubs who are over the age of 9 years on 7th May and did no attend the Centenary Sleepover.  Please note Cubs cannot attend both events.

What will I get to do?

Cubs will be sleeping in Troop Tents (with sewn in ground sheets!) on the grass beside the hall. Some Leaders will be camping and some will be in the Hall. Each Cub attending will obviously be credited with a Night Away.

* Should the weather be particularly bad we may be sleeping in the Hall!

This event will be based on teaching camping skills: putting up tents, fire lighting, cooking on fires, tent care etc. Excellent preparation for the Big Birthday Bash at the beginning of June at Fordell Firs where all Cubs will be camping! There will be a few games and challenges thrown in for good measure.

What kit do I take?

We will be camping however the full Camping Kit List is not required so please bring:

Sleeping bag & Blanket or Karrimat; Jacket; Full waterproofs; Pyjamas or Onesie; Trainers; Jumper or Sweatshirt; T-shirt; Long Trousers or Tracksuit bottoms; Spare Socks and Underwear; Towel; Wash Kit; Torch. He/she  will not need any money or sweets/snacks – Full Uniform as usual.

We will be having a Campfire so a Camp Blanket / Poncho should be brought if you have one.

Many of the Cubs prefer to bring shorts, however bring a pair of long trousers for the evenings.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the sleepover will be £10 per person.

Want to be part of this adventure?

Please return the full Sleepover fee to the appropriate Section Leader on or before Thursday 28th April. Cheques should be made payable to 28th Cubs or you can pay cash.
