Kyle & Carrick District Beavers

Beaver Commonwealth Games Funday

Culzean Sunday 18th May 2014

It is planned to hold a Funday for all Beaver Scouts within Kyle & Carrick District on May 18th 2014 at Culzean Scout grounds from 11am – 3:30pm.

We have planned many fun activities for the Beavers as a celebration of Beavers in Kyle & Carrick District and the Commonwealth Games being held nearby so the focus is on sports and fun, there will be plenty of activity and hopefully some new sports for the Beavers to try out on the day and make friends with Beavers from other parts of the District.  We are also being supported on the day by the District Explorer Units who have kindly offered to assist with some of the activities so this is a great opportunity for the youngest and oldest sections of Scouting to come together and have fun.

As the theme of the day is Commonwealth Games, the dress code for Beavers and Leaders alike is sports wear with Neckie but there is strictly NO football colours or football boots to be worn.  Any child wearing these items will not be permitted to attend.

The event will be no cost to all Beavers however we ask that the Beavers bring their own packed lunch, including drink and on the day there will be ice-cream with lunch and a later snack of juice and crisps provided.

Beavers should also bring with them a small water-pistol (no Super-Soakers) as the day will round off with a water-pistol fight (Leaders and Explorers included) with a no-refill rule.  We will provide water-pistol for everyone who is attending, they will be filled by the Explorers prior to the water fight.

The event will be covered by Scouting media for potential use on the Scout website/Facebook page (names removed) and possibly Scottish Television so please advise your Beaver Leader if you are not happy for them to be photographed/filmed during the day on the form below.
