We are holding a sleepover with a difference, based at our Scout Hall on Sat 28th to Sun 29th Sept, starting at 8.30am on the Saturday and finishing at 11am on the Sunday.  All Beavers from both Tuesday (Rowallan) and Thursday (Fullarton) are invited. We will meet at the Hall on Sat morning in Uniform, leave kit in the hall then board a coach for Ardrossan to catch the early ferry (9.45am) to Arran for an adventure including some activities at the Mountain Rescue Station. There will also be a bit of walking, a play around on the beach, perhaps an ice cream and then catch the evening ferry back. Supper at the Hall then sleep overnight. (Older Beavers will get the opportunity to Camp outside the hall for the first time in our super Cub tents!) Up for breakfast before more games / activities then heading home at 11am. Clearly some of the program is weather dependant (hence it is earlier in season) but it’s a break from our ‘usual’ sleepovers and we’re looking forward to trying something new!

What will you need to bring?

Main Bag – Sleeping bag & Blanket or Karrimat (the floor is hard); Pyjamas or similar; Cuddly Toy; Jumper or Sweatshirt; T-shirt; Long Trousers or Tracksuit bottoms; Spare Socks and Underwear; Tooth Brush & Paste; Torch. No money required. Full Uniform is to be worn to and from the event as usual.

Day sack (for carrying on to ferry) – Jacket (waterproof), Packed lunch and snack, hat and gloves if cold.

All the beavers who have been to one of our Sleepovers before will know what to expect. For many of them however, this will be their first time and they may understandably be a bit apprehensive. We are very experienced at running these events and there is nothing that we have not come across before. We have a sizeable number who wear pull-ups at night. This is dealt with very discretely and is never a problem. Often it is parents who are reluctant to ‘loosen the apron strings’. Yes there probably will be tears but PLEASE not in front of your children!

Cost?

The cost will be £15, which includes all food, travel and other expenses.
